Australia and Indonesia have agreed on 21/12 enhanced intelligence sharing in the fight against terrorism.
According to reporter TTVXN in Sydney, this move takes place a few days after the Indonesian police arrested a number of subjects suspected suicide bombing plot in the capital Jakarta.
Speaking to reporters after the annual bilateral dialogue with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi in Sydney, Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said Australia and Indonesia are cooperating very closely in counter-terrorism issues and the two countries will continue cooperation to share intelligence information for security and safety of people as well as the region.
For his part, Foreign Minister of Indonesia Marsudi confirmed intelligence information sharing is one of the most important issues that Indonesia must do within the framework of cooperation against terrorism.
The dialogue took place at the same time Attorney General George Brandis Australia and Minister of Justice Michael Keenan to Indonesia to discuss with his counterparts on issues of security and law enforcement.
